Mother's Day Banquet
The Lao American Women Association cordially invites you to join us in celebrating our Mothers at our Annual Mother's Day Banquet. The banquet will be held on Friday, May 8, 2015 at the Harvest Moon Restaurant. Please click here to view the flyer for more information or contact any of our LAWA officers.
The proceeds of this dinner will be used to support the students of Lao American Women Association. LAWA originally decided that it would nice to hold a party to introduce our Lao school students to the community and at the same time to celebrate women as well as to raise funds for our general operation. We, therefore, decided to piggyback on the Mother's Day celebration. In 2004, we decided that we would award our scholarship at this banquet too. The tradition continues until present day.
The Mothers Day banquet is held annually to:
- Raise necessary funds to operate LAWA and fund scholarships
- Showcase the students' dance repertoire, learned in our school
- Celebrate all mothers for their kindness and giving
- Let the community know about our work and involvement
