Lao School and Youth Activities

The Lao community in the nation's capital felt a need to preserve the Lao language and culture. Mrs. Khoune Souvannavong began teaching Lao language in 1994.

Lao language and culture classes are offered on Saturday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm , with possible make-up days on Sunday afternoon from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. Classes are free of charge, but small contribution appreciated.

Students eligible are from age 7 and up. Classes are held at:
        Willston Community Center
        6131 Willston Drive
        Falls Church, VA 22044

School opens during regular school year and closed for summer, but youth activities may continue all year round if there are enough youth registered.

LAWA students could perform for events if time and location and for causes that deemed appropriate by LAWA Board and parents' availability.

Youth Forum
The Youth Forum allows our youth an opportunity to voice their concerns and help set directions for their community needs.

Youth Newsletter
This newsletter was published, but discontinued due to lack of writers. It's being considered for new publication.
